i am a pianist, composer, improviser, performing artist and a multitasking musician in life, currently living and working in reykjavik. i was born 1978 in seydisfjördur, iceland and have been playing the piano and keyboards since age of 9. my main focus and interest is in improvisation, composition and performance of music. how improvisation and composition can meet effortlessly as a creation of musical ideas and sounds. i am also thoughtful of the general passion & drive behind creation of things, in what way they are presented and passed on to people, in music, arts and life in general. since childhood i ve collaborated with a whole spectrum of artist, from obscure troubadours in the countryside to stadium bands, covering all fields og music, both in iceland and abroad. i have also composed and arranged a great deal of music for theater, film, art installations, performances and videos of all kinds. released my first album rask in 2002, and now i am currently composing and working on a series of records with solo piano music for radio bongo with improvised piano works i (broadcast01) as the first radio bongo release.

from the beginning of bristol archive records involvement in documenting bristols neglected reggae heritage we have wanted to release an album that showcases the great talent of one of the local reggae scenes mainstays, joshua moses.

kostbar musik welcomes ataneus! great groovy tech-house tune including a cosmic cowboys remix!in 2002 ataneus made his debut as a dj in club blade (sofia) with the support of dj da red guy. in 2003 ataneus, chester and laylla dane started intelligente nights – a night dedicated to the italian techno groove from naples. during the next couple of years ataneus played at many clubs and on lots of big parties with artists like carl cox, thomas schumacher, henrik b, lori hi-fi princess to name a few. currently ataneus is studying sound engineering and work on his own productions. his first serious tracks and remixes came out on labels like ostwind, ackerdub, subotnik, chocolate ltd, kolokoland etc. from 2010 he is running also the only vinyl label render obedience recordings.

another great release on etichetta nera, this time is the toronto master greg gow. already on top labels such as transmat and his own restructured greg give us a track that came from the idea of blending detroit sounds with house and giving the track a good warm feeling with a nice groove. on the remixes francesco bonora & mirko remodel the track in their techno mood while corrugated tunnel version is more detroitish house. edwin was an instant fan of the original so he want to his remix a brand new feel with a laid back summer feel.

gogo music is ten years old, and now is celebrating its 50th release. this time it is a great collaboration between ralf gum and robert owens. ralf gums mix is a deep track that start with percussive groove. deep, fat bassline under elettro synths perfect for dancefloor. the remix is under dj spinnas knowledge with same ingredients but more deep and hypnotic. useless to comment robert owens voice. always useful instrumental and beat versions. a package to have ... for sure in top 10.

(also known for robots are un-american, re-released on italians do it better last year). inspired by a lcd soundsystem song tinto b. comes with this great record! we cant find the connection to the lcd soundsystem track that supposed to have been his source of inspiration, and actually we dont care... its some of the best recent italo disco we ve heard in a while! if you are big on italo vocals the a side is for you, if instead you dig deep electro disco but without the chanting, the dub version on the flip side will more than certainly send you into italo space. another hot artifact release from mr. bottin. tip! aldo cadiz, one of the most popular producer of south america, meets an italian artist, matthew lima, owner of amazing music. tey started their relationship about 1 year ago, and one of the best score is their next release on carillon records. lluvia de verano is an amazing track, something unusual for carillon and also for this two producer. is a funky and melodic track that make a great atmosphere on the dancefloor. la noise mal is a deep trip, tribal and dark with a great male vocal. de diezmil is the dancefloor killer of the ep, solid and groovy from the first kick. hellow ashley close the release with an hip hop vocal and latin percussions. all the release is massive and you can listen all around the south american influence of this two artists

we celebrate our number 30 with a double pack, featuring one of the creators of techno in spain: groof.roberto gemelin, from madrid, is groof. hes robert calvin too. no matter which of his alias you know him by, hes one of the most active producers in the madrid arena.aka robert calvin, he released materials with turbo (tigas label) in 2004, having previously collaborated with star whores in a joint release with alek stark (2002). also important are the remixes he did for disko b or for sindicato records and msx, paying tribute to megabeat with his recreation of the great classic strange.his background as groof is even more extensive, as his early steps go back to the times of minifunk (the cheeky and shameless label from barcelona that was then managed by omar and dj loe). with them he recorded mambo! (1999) and i want you(2000). he has also recorded with warmup, fieber, rainwaves or shareware records.at the end of the ninetees groof shared quite unusual with oscar mulero: the start of a deep friendship that nowadays brings us wu30 mini-album.

dont be afraid present spargel trax, a two part series of vinyl-only, coloured, hand-stamped 12 inches designed to celebrate the dual themes of great seasonal music and great seasonal spargel. contributing tracks across the two 12 inchess are some of our favourite artists currently making house music. from established artists like disco nihilist, andy blake, sound species and james duncan to up and coming artists like david joseph from cologne, hodge from bristol, untitled-w from st. petersburg, for whom this is the first outing on wax, and scott fraser from glasgow. no clues though as to which is which, you?ll have to just listen to the tracks and hear for yourself! proof that 2012 is a great time for music, a great time for wax and a great time for spargel. spargel is very popular in the netherlands, spain, france, belgium, germany, and switzerland, and almost exclusively white. else, it is specified by the local language term for green asparagus. compared to the latter, the locally cultivated so-called white gold or edible ivory, also referred to as the royal vegetable, is less bitter and much more tender. freshness is highly regarded, and it must be peeled before cooking or raw consumption.

famed for their self-released km editions series, keyboard masher join daphni & tom croose in the resista family with the roaring afro editions - two faultless edits that distil the spirit of mother africa. opener >juju< is an epic fifteen minute long journey filled with joyous, duelling guitars, syncopated percussion, shuffling rhythms and a myriad of unexpected passages and turns. captivating from the off, there is only one word to describe >juju< – magical. on the flip >tcham tcham< takes a more direct route to the dancefloor … riding on a more electronic 4/4 beat, it is unashamedly leftfield, with a thunderous chug, a great guitar riff and deadpan calls of >tcham tcham<, which all builds up to an anthemic climax. drop it and watch the dancefloor melt.

akufen is back in great shape with some new original material for his own label musique risquée, the only label where you can find these unidentified musical objects. five tracks of swinging melodic madness like only akufen can craft. if these songs dont bring you a smile, well, too bad for you.

following her flowerhead single which was backed with a hugely successful spencer parker remix, swedens la fleur returns to her own fledgling power plant imprint for it s third release, eavesdropper. strong, melodic and timeless house music paired with stunning artwork, power plants remit is a simple but attractive one. the beautiful images of olaf hajek, wilfried pordiech sätty and now hans arnold provide a striking outer to a core that, in just two releases, is already essential for many a house fan. former dancer sanna la fleur, label boss and the artist in question for the label s third 12 inch, employs a variety of sunny major key chords and whispering female vocals on title cut >eavesdropper< to great ends. spacious and gentle yet undeniably propulsive >eavesdropper< is an infectious skipping groove with a strikingly beautiful feel underpinned with nagging bass. the flipside cut tjuvlyssnerskan takes its name from the swedish feminine noun for eavesdropper yet reverses the gender of the vocals of its counterpart. added dusty loops, poignant pianos and another weighty bass create a piece of house that much more than the sum of its parts. the > eavesdropper< is another triumph for the power plant label and la fleur while also being a shining example of how to release records with love and care.

anton kubikov and maxim milyutenko are widely known as scsi-9 and are by far the most recognizable and booked house / techno duo from russia. with a total of more than 50 releases and 120 tracks so far on labels such as traum/trapez, salo, freizeitglauben, morris audio, highgrade, force tracks, tyrant and kompakt they have earned great respect worldwide and are famous for their eclectic and crystal clear tech sound.

for the fourth ep on austere, irelands slowburn are welcomed into the fold. having impressed us with releases on uzuri and elektrosouls this ep will not disappoint fans of the label to kick things off we have the the hustle which sounds like something that prescription forgot to release back in the day! next up is broken document which delivers lovely warm analogue chords and pads interlaced with an 808 groove. the b-side starts off with do it using various samples to great effect to culminate in a unique deep house sound. finishing things off in much the same territory is from another angle which again brings the warm chords and pads, but also brings to the table some really delicate synth lines to create a surreal effect.

join the dots reaches its dirty dozen in the form of leeds based noiseniks death on the balcony. after a year of rather big releases, hanging out with wolf & lamb, soul clap and other assorted cool cats and playing a hectic schedule of gigs across the world that literally saw fans throwing themselves (from a ruddy great height apparently) at our boys they now contribute dot012 to the jtds family. whilst being described as everything from disco, house, deep techno and any number of other pointless monikers (these are just their own descriptions we should add), death on the balcony have you could say come home to roost. think of us as their crash mat, their safety harness, their bungee cord. we are going to look after them whilst they just sit back and admire the view.
